Sony has revealed that it is removing the online shooter *Concord* from sale just two weeks after its debut.

The multiplayer game, which launched exclusively for PlayStation 5 and PC on August 23rd, has reportedly struggled to gain a player base.

In a blog post on Sony's website, Ryan Ellis, the game director at Firewalk Studios, announced that the game would go offline starting September 6th.

He stated that anyone who purchased the £40 game would receive a full refund, while the team works on "determining the best path ahead" for its return.

*Concord* is a hero shooter, similar to popular games like *Overwatch* and *Valorant*.

Players join a team made up of characters with unique abilities, competing in deathmatches or other game modes that involve objectives or controlling areas of the map.

Having reportedly been in development for eight years, *Concord* was Sony's latest attempt to break into the multiplayer market.

The game received mixed reviews, with praise for its graphics and solid gameplay but criticism for not bringing anything new to the genre.

Data from SteamDB, which monitors player activity on the PC platform, shows that *Concord* peaked at 660 concurrent players.

In comparison, the top game, *Counter-Strike 2*, has consistently seen more than 1 million players since August 2022.

Ellis acknowledged in his message that Firewalk Studios has "been listening closely" to player feedback.

"While many qualities of the experience resonated with players, we also recognize that other aspects of the game and our initial launch didn’t land the way we’d intended," he explained.

Ellis expressed gratitude to those who played the game, noting that the "passionate community that has grown around the game has meant the world to us."

By taking the game offline, the developers aim to "explore options, including those that will better reach our players," he concluded.
