Minor dies after falling into construction pit

MIANWALI:

A minor died after drowning into a pit near a cattle market in Piplan area on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Shayan. According to the police, a six feet deep pit had been dug near the cattle market for construction work and rain water had collected in it.

The four-year-old fell into the pit while playing and drowned in the water.

Family members of the deceased child protested by placing the body in front of the AC office. MPA Malik Mumtaz Ahmed met with the family

of the family of the deceased and inquired DSP Circle Piplan Malik Zafar Iqbal Awan and SHO Piplan Malik Fayaz in THQ Piplan Hospital about police action on the death of the child.

DSP Circle Pipalan Malik Zafar Iqbal Awan told the MPA that he has directed the SHO to register a case.

Mianwali DPO Akhtar Farooq has also given clear instructions. Police are investigating further in this regard.
