KARACHI:

Recent monsoon rains have left roads in various parts of Karachi in a dilapidated condition, causing severe traffic jams and long queues of vehicles on major streets across the city.

According to traffic police, traffic flow on MA Jinnah Road has been severely affected due to damaged roads, leading to increased congestion. Similar traffic jams were reported in the Saddar area and surrounding neighbourhoods, where vehicles were lined up for long distances.

On MT Khan Road and Jinnah Bridge, potholes have disrupted traffic, while the road from Quaidabad to the airport is in such poor condition that a significant number of commuters faced immense difficulties due to gridlock.

The road leading from FTC to Kala Pul towards DHA is also in disrepair, causing severe disruptions in traffic flow and creating hardship for residents. Near Malir Bridge, potholes have further worsened traffic conditions.

Commuters travelling from Gurumandir to Teen Hatti faced significant challenges as they were stuck in severe traffic jams. It is reported that ongoing development work on both tracks has exacerbated the congestion.

Widespread development projects in several parts of the city have led to serious traffic disruptions, resulting in long lines of vehicles and considerable inconvenience for residents.
