An armed robbery took place near the Deputy Commissioner's House. According to sources, two robbers on a motorcycle stole Rs650,000 from a salesman of a pharmaceutical company and fled the scene. Despite CCTV footage of the robbers going viral, the police have been unable to apprehend the accused.
An emergency meeting of the Chemists and Druggists Association of Attock was held which demanded the arrest of the robbers within 24 hours. This incident occurred in a high-security zone that includes the Deputy Commissioner's House, the homes of various senior officials, police lines, the district jail, and other important government offices.
The robbery in such a secure area has caused widespread fear and panic, particularly among the business community. The association criticised the district administration and police for their failure to prevent the crime and demanded immediate action.
Previously, a similar armed robbery occurred at Fatima Pharmacy on Attock's Three Mela Road, adding to the concerns of local traders.
The increase in street crime has made business operations in Attock increasingly difficult. The government is urged to conduct special operations to protect traders.
In response, the Central Traders Association, chaired by President Rashid Rehman Khan, called for Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and the IGP to address the deteriorating law and order situation in Attock.
