Both Jennifer Garner and Jennifer Lopez have reportedly grappled with Ben Affleck’s “moody and dark” personality throughout their relationships with the actor.

Sources close to both women reveal that Affleck “has never handled stress well,” often becoming easily frustrated and emotionally volatile. These mood swings have been a significant challenge for those around him, contributing to the strain in his marriages.

According to insiders who spoke to People, Affleck “doesn’t have good coping skills,” and while he can be enjoyable when in a good mood, he is more frequently “upset or frustrated.”

This negativity reportedly took a toll on Lopez during their relationship, ultimately playing a major role in their recent decision to divorce. Lopez, who dedicated significant effort to making the marriage work, found it increasingly difficult to manage Affleck's mood swings, which sources say were a recurring issue.

Jennifer Garner, who was married to Affleck for 13 years and shares three children with him, also experienced similar challenges. Garner has been a supportive figure for Affleck even after their separation, reportedly becoming an "unexpected ally" for Lopez during her marriage to Affleck. Despite these efforts, both women found it hard to cope with the impact of Affleck's unpredictable moods.

As Affleck and Lopez finalize their divorce, Garner continues to support Affleck while focusing on co-parenting their children.

Garner has maintained boundaries, choosing not to involve herself in the specifics of Affleck and Lopez’s relationship issues, but her experience with Affleck’s mood swings has given her a unique perspective on the situation.
