PCB clears four players to compete in CPL 2024

Opener Saim Ayub denied NOC due to his commitments with Pakistan's Test squad in the series against Bangladesh

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has granted No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to four Pakistani cricketers, clearing them to compete in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024.

Among those given the green light are Azam Khan and Fakhar Zaman.

Azam is set to join the Guyana Amazon Warriors, while Fakhar will suit up for the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons.

Joining Fakhar at the Falcons are fast bowler Mohammad Amir and all-rounder Imad Wasim, both also cleared by the PCB.

However, promising young opener Saim Ayub has been denied a NOC due to his commitments with Pakistan's Test squad in the ongoing series against Bangladesh.

This follows last month’s decision by the PCB to withhold NOCs for star players Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi from the Global T20 League in Canada, prioritizing rest ahead of Pakistan’s packed schedule leading up to the 2025 Champions Trophy, which they will host.

Earlier in July, PCB granted no-objection certificates (NOCs) to 12 cricketers, allowing them to participate in various international leagues and tournaments.

Mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed will compete in Major League Cricket from July 4 to July 28, while Fakhar Zaman will join the Caribbean Premier League, spanning from August 29 to October 6.

Pacer Haris Rauf is set to play in Major League Cricket from July 5 to July 28, and Mohammad Amir will represent County Cricket from July 4 to July 20.

Additionally, Mohammad Haris, Mohammad Hasnain (a non-centrally contracted player), Salman Ali Agha, and Shadab Khan will all participate in the Lanka Premier League from July 1 to July 21.

Sharjeel Khan and Sohaib Maqsood are slated for the World Championship of Legends, scheduled from July 3 to July 13.

Usama Mir will compete in The Hundred, scheduled from July 23 to August 20, and Zaman Khan will join Major League Cricket from July 4 to July 28.

However, Pakistan's wicketkeeper-batsman Azam Khan and opening batsman Saim Ayub could not obtain NOCs as they are part of the Guyana Warriors for the upcoming CPL 2024.

Azam also recently opted out of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) in adherence to the PCB's policy of granting NOCs to players for participation in a maximum of two leagues annually.
