Star asks followers to make 'small dua' for the couple

Pakistani actor Mahira Khan, who quietly tied the knot with entrepreneur Salim Karim last October, recently took to Instagram to wish her husband a happy birthday. Alongside a tender photo of the couple embracing, Mahira wrote, "Happy birthday my Jaan. P.S. Please make a small dua for us, it would be lovely."

The post was met with comments from industry colleagues, friends and family wishing Salim and showering the happy couple with love. Sarwat Gilani and Erica Robin, the first Miss Universe Pakistan commented a series of heart emojis under the post. Zara Noor Abbas commented "Nazar-e-Badoor (far be the evil eye)", while director Asim Raza wrote, "So many reasons to celebrate you two. May you both live long and stay strong."

During an interview with a local news organisation, the Superstar actor also opened up about her deeply emotional wedding ceremony, which took place in Bhurban, Pakistan. Although weddings are often filled with tears of joy, Mahira revealed that her nuptials had an unexpected effect on everyone present—right down to the staff.

Describing the day, Mahira said it wasn't just her close friends and family who were "ugly crying". Her son Azlan, from her first marriage, was deeply emotional, but what truly surprised the star was witnessing the waiters and even foreign DJs shed tears as she walked down the aisle. "Because it was so small and intimate, it was a real moment of trust and letting go," she shared.

The wedding itself was a private affair, attended by a close-knit group of loved ones. Mahira, who has kept her relationship with Salim largely out of the public eye, later shared a video from the ceremony. The clip captured the moment when Salim teared up as he saw his wife-to-be approaching, dressed in an exquisite ice-blue and ivory Faraz Manan ensemble complete with a trailing veil.
