ISLAMABAD:

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) asked the additional attorney general (AAG) to submit a detailed report regarding the handover of neuroscientist Dr Aafia Siddiqui to the United States.

IHC Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan heard a petition filed by Fauzia Siddiqui about the health and repatriation of Dr Siddiqi from a US prison.

During the hearing, Fauzia Siddiqui, sister of Dr Siddiqi, appeared via a video link.

Siddiqui is currently serving an 86-year sentence at the Federal Medical Centre, in the US state of Texas, for attempted murder and other charges. She was convicted and sentenced by a federal court in New York in September 2010.
