Blast kills four in North Waziristan tribal district

PESHAWAR:

A motorcycle-borne bomb went off in the Razmak subdivision in the North Waziristan district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, killing at least four people and injuring eight others, district administration officials said on Monday.

They said that law-enforcement and security personnel reached the blast site and transported the injured to nearby hospitals. They also cordoned off the blast site, while a probe was launched into the incident.

The North Waziristan district in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has recently seen an uptick in violence, including target killings and militant attacks. President Asif Ali Zardari expressed his sympathies with the families of those who lost their lives in these attacks.

According to a press release issued by the President House, the president expressed his determination to completely eradicate the scourge of terrorism from the country. He also wished for the swift recovery of the injured.

The K-P Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur strongly condemned the blast.
