The late basketball legend Kobe Bryant was paid homage on a special day. The Los Angeles MLB team organized this event on Aug. 25 in his remembrance.

The late legend's daughter Bianka 7 kick started the event by throwing her first pitch against the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday to honor her late father.

She accompanied her mother Vanessa Bryant during the event. A Los Angeles Lakers fan account shared a latest video on X handle. In that video, Bianka is visibly seen knocking her first pitch down the plate at Dodgers Stadium that is to be caught by right fielder Mookie Betts.

Vanessa, 42, and her daughters Natalia, 21, Bianka, and Capri, 5, all sported matching Dodgers jerseys with the No. 24 on the back to honor Kobe, who tragically died in a helicopter crash in 2020 at age 41, along with their 13-year-old daughter Gianna.

This isn't the first instance of Bryant throwing the first pitch at a Dodgers game. In September 2023, Natalia Bryant took the mound, echoing Kobe Bryant's earlier appearance in June 2000, nearly 25 years prior.

Later, Vanessa also shared exciting insights from the latest event on her instagram handle. She thanked the Dodgers for supporting her foundation. She also shared the picture of Bianka accompanied by Betts, 31, where she is sharing a delightful moment.

In this baseball event attendees received special editions such as Kobe jerseys to celebrate the Los Angeles sport icon 46th birthday. In order to pay homage to the late “Black Mamba” with snake print and gold black coloring featuring both iconic numbers - 8 and 24 - on either side.

The tribute event was officially declared as Aug.24 in Los Angeles and Orange Country that surprisingly comes after the birthday of the late icon. All Dodgers fans received a Lakers T-shirt that has a complimentary cartoon design of the legendary lakers.

Many exceptional appearances paid respect to this event and threw their first pitches such as Michael Cooper, A.C. Green, Kurt Rambis, Byron Scott, Mychal Thompson and James Worthy.

The Kobe-themed night is one of many ways the city of Los Angeles continues to honor the late basketball star's legacy and comes just weeks after a new statue of the Lakers great was unveiled downtown.
