"Inside Out 2" makes history, crossing $1 billion at International Box Office

Pixar's "Inside Out 2" becomes the first and only animated film to gross over $1 billion internationally.

Disney and Pixar's "Inside Out 2" has achieved a historic milestone, surpassing $1 billion at the international box office. This achievement makes it the only animated film to ever reach this mark, joining an elite group of 12 films that have crossed the billion-dollar threshold solely from overseas ticket sales. While "The Lion King" (2019) also achieved this, Disney categorizes it as live-action due to its realistic CGI.

"Inside Out 2" is currently the highest-grossing film of the year globally, with $1.649 billion worldwide, including $1.002 billion from international markets. Its success showcases its widespread appeal, particularly in Mexico, Brazil, the U.K., France, and Korea.

In comparison, "Deadpool & Wolverine," another Disney hit this summer, has generated $634.1 million internationally, demonstrating the impressive reach of "Inside Out 2" even when compared to other blockbuster movies.

Other notable box office performances include "Alien: Romulus," which added $57.8 million globally this weekend, bringing its total to $225.4 million. However, new releases "Blink Twice" and "The Crow" reboot struggled, with disappointing international and domestic debuts.
