Two terrorists killed by police in Taunsa

Police neutralised two terrorists during an operation based on received intelligence in Punjab's Taunsa district.

Two terrorists were killed during a police encounter in Taunsa, Punjab, on 24 August, authorities confirmed.

The confrontation occurred near the City Food Club in the jurisdiction of the City Police Station, where officers acted on intelligence about a group of extremists from Fitanat al-Khawarij planning a major terrorist attack.

According to police sources, the SHO of Tehsil Vahowa, District Taunsa, led the operation.

Upon arrival, the terrorists opened fire on the police team, leading to a fierce exchange.

The police returned fire, killing two militants on the spot.

The encounter resulted in injuries to SHO Vahowa, Sub-Inspector Sadiq, and Constable Muzammil Nazir.

They were swiftly transferred to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Taunsa, where they are receiving medical care.

Local residents commended the bravery of the police officers involved in the encounter.

Law enforcement agencies and security forces remain committed to eradicating terrorism from the country.
