Abhishek Banerjee discusses leading role offers after success of Stree 2

Excited about new opportunities, Banerjee shared that he is now receiving offers for lead roles, a first in his career

Abhishek Banerjee, star of the hit film Stree 2, is enjoying the success of his latest release, which has drawn substantial crowds at the box office.

Speaking to the media recently, Banerjee revealed that he is now receiving offers for leading roles—a development that marks a significant shift in his career.

"I have begun receiving offers for lead roles, which is a new development for me. Previously, I was offered smaller, low-budget projects. Just last week, I got three offers, and I am eager to dive into reading and choosing what is next," Banerjee shared.

Discussing the box office competition between Vedaa and Stree 2, Banerjee described the experience as mixed.

While praising Nikkhil Advani's direction in Vedaa, which enjoyed 60% occupancy in major cities, he acknowledged that Stree 2 has exceeded all expectations.

"No one expected Stree to be such a colossal hit. I knew it would be big, but it has grown into something even larger—like Godzilla."

In Stree 2, Banerjee reprises his role as Janna, alongside Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, and Pankaj Tripathi.

The sequel to the 2018 horror-comedy Stree has received positive reviews.

The film continues the story of Rajkummar Rao's character, Vicky, and his friends as they face a new supernatural threat—a ghostly head known as Sarkata.
