Ronda Rousey has publicly apologised for sharing a Sandy Hook conspiracy video on Twitter over a decade ago, describing it as “the single most regrettable decision of my life.”
The former UFC fighter and actor expressed deep remorse in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday. Rousey had removed the video, which falsely suggested that the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting was staged, shortly after posting it.
She admitted in her apology that she did not believe the conspiracy but, distressed by the real events, sought an alternative narrative.
Rousey revealed she had redrafted her apology numerous times over the years but was afraid of drawing further attention to the incident.
She also mentioned that she wanted to include an apology in her memoir "Our Fight" but was advised by her publisher to omit it. Rousey stated that she deserved criticism and consequences for her actions.
