Pakistan’s batting on the second day of the first Test against Bangladesh has been anchored by a strong partnership between Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan.

At lunch, Pakistan reached 256 for 4 after 70 overs in Rawalpindi, with Shakeel on 86 and Rizwan on 89.

The pair has steadied Pakistan's innings after a challenging start on the first day, where Pakistan struggled at 16 for 3.

Resuming the day at 158 for 4, Shakeel and Rizwan have been solid, adding crucial runs to take Pakistan past the 200-run mark.

Bangladesh, who chose to field first, initially found success with early wickets but has since been frustrated by the resilient partnership between Shakeel and Rizwan.

Earlier, the match, delayed by five and a half hours due to a wet outfield caused by rain, saw only 41 overs bowled on the first day.

Bangladesh's bowlers, led by Shoriful Islam, who took 2 wickets for 38 runs, found some early success, but Pakistan's middle order has fought back admirably.
