Photo exhibit spotlights Independence Movement

PAC official says purpose of show is to remind people of the struggle for freedom

RAWALPINDI:

The Punjab Arts Council, in collaboration with Nazariya Pakistan Trust, organised a picture exhibition, set up book stalls, and screened a documentary on the Independence Movement at Divisional Public School Rawalpindi.

During the exhibit, a remarkable pictorial presentation of the Pakistan movement was displayed by the young artists through their marvellous artistic skills.

The chief guest of the inaugural ceremony was Additional Deputy Commissioner Headquarters Rawalpindi, Zonaira Aftab. Deputy Director of Punjab Arts Council Rawalpindi, Muhammad Shakur, was also in attendance.

In her address, Aftab emphasised the importance of the younger generation studying Pakistan's history to understand the struggles and key figures behind the country's creation.

The exhibition showcased rare and unique photographs of the Pakistan Movement, while the bookstall featured rare and informative books on the same topic.

Shakur highlighted that the purpose of the exhibition is to remind people that freedom was not easily attained, but rather earned through the unparalleled sacrifices of our ancestors. He further added that organising such informative programmes for the youth is a priority.

The event was attended by faculty members of Divisional Public School and College Rawalpindi, including Arjumand Asif, Madam Farhat, Madam Aram Ansar, Madam Nazia Parveen, Professor Zahid Javed from Nazariya Pakistan Trust, and a large number of students.
