Victim was unable to pay Rs20,000 in dues

An elderly man committed suicide by stepping in front of a train.

Reportedly, the deceased was frustrated over high electricity bill. According to eyewitnesses, Fida Hussain committed suicide by stepping in front of a train on the railway tracks.

Seeing his body lying on the railway line, citizens present at the spot informed the police. Railway and Millat Town police reached the spot and handed over the body to the heirs of the victim after completing legal formalities.

Local residents said the deceased had received an electricity bill of Rs20,000, which he was unable to pay, so he committed suicide. However, the police said no evidence indicating the cause of eh suicide had been found at the scene.

In another incident, a youth committed suicide by consuming poison in Tandlianwala. According to the police, Shahzad Ahmed, a resident of Shaukatabad, had an argument with his family. Reportedly, heartbroken by the quarrel, Shahzad consumed poison.

He was admitted to the Allied Hospital, where he died. The police handed over the body to the family of the deceased.
