Although Swift has not publicly endorsed any candidate yet, she supported President Joe Biden in 2020. Earlier this month, a photo on Swift’s Instagram led to speculation that she might endorse Harris, but it was later clarified that the image showed one of Swift’s backup dancers.

Swift's fans have organized a group called “Swifties for Kamala,” which has quickly gained significant followings on Instagram and X. The group reported over 5,000 sign-ups for their August 27 Zoom kickoff call within a day of announcing it. In 2019, Swift criticized Trump, suggesting he views the U.S. as an autocracy rather than a democracy.

There is ongoing speculation that Swift or Beyoncé might perform at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago this week, though nothing has been confirmed. Swift is set to perform at Wembley Stadium in London on Monday and Tuesday.
