Right-arm fast bowler Aamir Jamal has been released from Pakistan’s Test squad ahead of the upcoming series against Bangladesh.
Aamir was initially included in the squad pending a fitness clearance. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has advised him to focus on recovery at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore.
The 27-year-old pacer is nursing a back injury sustained during county cricket earlier this year.
The PCB has prioritised Aamir’s long-term health, opting to give him the time needed to regain full fitness instead of pushing for immediate participation.
The first Test match between Bangladesh and Pakistan is scheduled for August 21 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
