Nicki Minaj has settled a defamation lawsuit against a blogger who made unsubstantiated claims about her alleged drug use. The "Super Freaky Girl" rapper filed the lawsuit in September 2022 against Marley Green, known online as Nosey Heaux, after Green posted a video accusing Minaj of being a "cokehead."
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, the settlement requires Green to issue a public apology and retract her false statements. Green acknowledged that her claims about Minaj using or abusing cocaine were entirely baseless and that she had no evidence to support her allegations. "I falsely stated that Nicki Minaj was a cokehead. I had no factual basis for making that statement, and I sincerely apologize," Green stated in the retraction.
Minaj also alleged in her lawsuit that Green made "vile" comments about the son she shares with her husband, Kenneth Petty. As part of the settlement, Green agreed to refrain from ever mentioning Minaj's son or husband in any future posts or comments. Additionally, Green is prohibited from making any further statements about Minaj involving illegal or unethical activities.
The settlement includes a financial penalty for any breach of the agreement, with Green required to pay Minaj $50,000 (£38,000) for each violation. TMZ, which first broke the story, reported that this settlement marks a significant victory for Minaj, who has been vocal about protecting her reputation and privacy.
