KARACHI:

A trained dog of the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) was killed by bird shooters at Karachi Airport. The captain of a foreign airline's flight reported the presence of a dog near the aircraft's parking area. To prevent the dog from running towards the taxiway, the shooter had to fire a shot.

The Airport Authority spokesperson said that the incident occurred at around 3am on Saturday when the plane's captain informed the control tower about a dog near runway, after landing. The bird shooter took action, and killed the dog.

Sources said that the dog, which was trained for sniffing and searching for drugs, had escaped from its cage and reached the parking area.

The Pakistan Airports Authority has started an investigation into the incident.
