Four terrorists were killed in two separate operations in DI Khan and Khyber tribal districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday.

In the first operation two unidentified terrorists affiliated with the proscribed organization Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Commander Waleed Group, were killed during an intelligence based operation in Khyber tribal district.

Official sources told The Express Tribune that the IBO was jointly conducted by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and Jamrud police in Regi Lalma within the limits of Jamrud police station.

The operation was launched in response to confirmed information that six to seven armed terrorists, led by banned TTP Commander Waleed, would be coming to the area for the purpose of attacking checkpoints in Regi Model Town, Hayatabad or Takhta Beg area.

Based on the intelligence received, the SHO of CTD Khyber, along with the SHO Jamrud and a specialized operation team, launched a targeted operation in the identified area.

During the operation, an exchange of fire occurred between the armed terrorists and the police party at PDA Lalma near Ghariza River.

The terrorists fired at the police party, who retaliated in self-defence. The firing continued for approximately 20 minutes, after which the police conducted a search operation and found the dead bodies of two unidentified miscreants.

The remaining accomplices of the slain terrorists took advantage of the dense shrubs and trees surrounding the area, allowing them to flee and evade capture.

The slain terrorists were found to be in possession of two AK-47, five magazines, 75 cartridges of 7.62 mm and four hand grenades.

The police party remained safe during the exchange of fire. Efforts are underway to identify the slain terrorists as soon as possible. The information will be shared with the media in a timely manner.

A case has been registered under the Terrorism Act at CTD Khyber police station, and further investigation is underway.

Dera Operation

Meanwhile, a TTP commander wanted in 12 different cases of terrorism to the CTD police, including attacks on customs officials and looting of toll plazas in Kulachi district, was killed along with his accomplice in an IBO by security forces and police.

Arms and ammunition and hand grenades were recovered in the operation.

As per the details, the security forces conducted a successful operation against the terrorists in Kulachi, a suburb of Dera Ismail Khan on the basis of intelligence information, in which two terrorists were killed in the exchange of fire.

Arms and ammunition were also recovered from the slain terrorists. One of the deceased terrorist has been identified as Irfan of Kari Malang while the other body was taken into custody by the security forces for identification.

The slain terrorist, who was the deputy commander Shireen Group and was wanted to the CTD police in 12 terrorism cases, including attacks on CPEC toll plaza, various other toll plazas and attacks on customs officials, along with various other terror incidents.
