The Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation (RMC) has launched a major anti-encroachment operation across the city under the anti-encroachment committee established by Commissioner Amir Khattak.
The newly formed demolition committee includes the City Assistant Commissioner as convener, along with the RMC Chief Officer, the Civil Defence Officer, and representatives from the RDA, police, and traffic police.
The operation will initially target areas along Murree Road from Fawara Chowk to Raja Bazaar, Iqbal Road to Fawara Chowk, Commercial Market Satellite Town, and Transformer Chowk Sadiqabad. Additional areas will be addressed in subsequent phases.
The Commissioner's Office has requested police support from RPO to ensure law and order during the operation. Led by Chief Municipal Officer Sheikh Imran Ali, the operation began with Murree Road and Commercial Market, resulting in the seizure of five truckloads of goods.
The drive will be intensified with City Assistant Commissioner Hakim Khan, RDA Director Land Malik Ghazanfar, and a significant deployment of police and traffic personnel.
