Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir hosted a reception on Pakistan’s Independence Day to honour Pakistan Army veterans, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR)
The event saw a gathering of numerous retired army officers and soldiers, celebrating their contributions to the nation.
During the event, General Munir paid tribute to the retired personnel, commending their unwavering dedication and significant role in shaping the country’s history.
He stressed the critical importance of unity and resilience in overcoming challenges, urging the veterans to remain active contributors to Pakistan’s progress and development.

The Army Chief also warned against the growing threat of fake news and propaganda, which he said are being spread by hostile elements to undermine the relationship between the people of Pakistan and the Armed Forces.
He reassured that with the steadfast support of the nation, including its veterans, these efforts would be rendered ineffective.
The veterans, in turn, expressed their confidence in the leadership of the Pakistan Army, pledging continued support in addressing both internal and external security challenges.
