LAHORE:

Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan called for the nation to embrace the guiding principles of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah—"faith, unity, and discipline"—as the key to putting Pakistan on the right track.

Speaking at a flag hoisting ceremony at the Punjab Assembly on the occasion of the 77th Independence Day, Khan emphasised that these principles are crucial for steering the country through its current challenges.

He acknowledged the critical phase Pakistan is facing, stressing that adherence to these values is essential for national progress and development.

Khan paid tribute to the military forces for their sacrifices in defending the country, particularly in the long-standing war against terrorism.

He remarked that the armed forces' role in safeguarding Pakistan's sovereignty could never be forgotten.

Khan highlighted the importance of the Punjab Assembly as a forum for addressing public issues through legislation and meaningful discussions.

He stressed that Pakistan can only make its mark on the world stage through political and economic advancements, and he expressed optimism in the role of Pakistan's youth in driving the nation towards a brighter future.

A prayer was also offered for the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Pakistan's freedom and security.
