GPI Mardan partners with marble industry

PESHAWAR:

The Government Polytechnic Institute (GPI) Mardan and marble industries of Mardan/Nowshera signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Tuesday to promote partnership in technical education. The agreement, implemented under the auspices of the All Pakistan Marble Industries Association (APMIA), strengthens industry-academia linkages.

The MoU was signed by Muneebur Rahman on behalf of Mardan Small Industrial Estate and Shoaib Khan on behalf of Nowshera Economic Zone. Under this agreement, courses related to the marble sector will be introduced at the institute.

Speaking on the occasion, Special Assistant to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister on Industries, Commerce and Technical Education, Abdul Karim Tordher pointed out the importance of partnerships between technical educational institutions and local industries for industrial development. He highlighted that this collaboration will provide better employment opportunities for the youth while supplying skilled manpower to the industry.
