The Bachelorette is a heavily edited show, so producers could have left out Sam's remark about Daisy and Maria.

In The Bachelorette season 21, Jenn Tran finally eliminated the show's villain, Sam McKinney, but not before he made a disturbing comment about her Bachelor season 28 co-stars, Daisy Kent and Maria Georgas, revealing that the show never truly prioritized Jenn.

On the first night, Jenn and Sam shared an immediate and intense connection, leading her to give him her first impression rose and the only kiss of the evening.

During their one-on-one date on The Bachelorette season 21, Sam pressured Jenn into jumping from the Auckland Sky Tower, despite her fear of heights and her reluctance to participate.

This raised a red flag for Jenn, causing her to doubt their relationship, but she softened after Sam opened up about his past relationship during dinner, ultimately giving him a rose.

However, Sam's true nature was revealed when he made the inappropriate remark about Daisy and Maria.

Before The Bachelorette season 21 began, Bachelor season 28 runner-up Daisy shared that she declined the role of Bachelorette because she wasn't ready for it.

Maria later disclosed that she had been offered the role but changed her mind.

This left Jenn appearing as the show's third choice for the lead, which felt unfair to her, particularly since Daisy and Maria were fan favorites who many viewers had hoped would star in the season.

As Jenn's season unfolded, fans largely forgot about Daisy and Maria, as Jenn proved to be an excellent Bachelorette.

During their one-on-one time on the radio show group date, when Jenn asked Sam about his first impression of her, he responded, "It's a testament to this process that I almost didn't even come here."

He went on to say that when he stepped out of the limousine, he thought, "This girl is not my type. I thought the Bachelorette was gonna be Daisy or Maria."

Sam's fellow contestants, who were observing the conversation from a distance, were visibly taken aback by his comment. Grant Ellis even remarked that it was weird.

The Bachelorette is a heavily edited show, so the producers could have easily left out Sam's remark about Daisy and Maria.

However, they clearly aimed to stir up drama and solidify Sam's role as the season's villain, as this conversation marked the beginning of the end for his relationship with Jenn.

Revisiting the Daisy and Maria controversy so late in Jenn's season was entirely unnecessary, and it only reinforced the idea that the producers never truly cared about her.
