Mayor Murtaza Wahab has said that cutting administrative expenses of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and ensuring timely completion of essential tasks are top priorities. In this regard, the process of fuel supply to KMC service vehicles has been improved. As a result of this initiative, in the month of July, 15,710 litres of diesel and petrol worth Rs3.762 million were saved.
The fuel supply process for KMC service vehicles has been digitised and transferred to the PSO Fleet Card System from July 1, 2024. This way the fire brigade fleet and other KMC vehicles assigned to public services have found it easier and more convenient to obtain fuel under this system.
He further stated that steps have been taken to keep KMC service vehicles operational and arrangements have been made to ensure that with the Fleet Card, they can easily obtain petrol or diesel from the nearest pump at any time. The difficulties and obstacles that were previously faced under the old system have been resolved, allowing KMC to perform its civic duties more effectively.
He added that KMC departments are being improved and made functional in a systematic way, and every effort is being made to eliminate unnecessary expenses and utilise all available resources for the development and betterment of the city.
