Air ambulance for upper Sindh takes off

Provincial Ministers Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and Saeed Ghani announced that Sindh government has launched a free air ambulance service under Local Government Council Association.

The agreement between the Sindh Local Council Association and Aircraft Company for the free air ambulance service will ensure better facilities for the people of Sindh.

Speaking at the ceremony, Saeed Ghani said that the initiative will provide air ambulance services to transport patients from Ghotki, Sukkur, and Khairpur to Karachi. He mentioned that an agreement will also be made between ASSL Aviation and three local councils to facilitate this service. The challenge of transporting patients from cities located six hours away from Karachi has been a major concern. The provincial government is now addressing this issue by launching the air ambulance service, which marks an important achievement and will help save precious lives.

Provincial Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, addressing the ceremony, expressed that today is a day of happiness as the vision of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is being realized. He highlighted the importance of starting the air ambulance service in Sindh. Nasir Shah noted that an agreement for the service is being established between Local Councils Sindh and ASSL.

Nasir Shah also recalled the incident involving journalist Jan Muhammad Maher, who needed to be transferred from Sukkur to Karachi after being attacked. However, due to delays in the transfer, he could not be shifted in time and died.

Nasir Shah added that the scope of the air ambulance service will be extended to other cities of the province including Hyderabad, Thar, Nawabshah, and Larkana.

Nasir Shah said that the Air Ambulance is also planned to operate on the airstrips in Badin.

Speaking at the event, CEO of Airlift Sales and Services, Akbar Jafri, said that air ambulance services are already being provided across Pakistan. Currently, the service is available for transporting patients from Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, Quetta, Balochistan, and other cities.

He mentioned that the air ambulance will be equipped with a stretcher, ventilator, oxygen, a doctor, and paramedical staff.
