In a recently resurfaced interview, Pakistan's champion javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem shared insights into the challenges he faced and the foreign offers he turned down out of loyalty to his country.

Despite receiving lucrative offers from countries such as the UK, UAE, Turkey, and Uzbekistan, Arshad explained that had remained steadfast in his decision to represent only Pakistan.

He emphasised his commitment to his country, even when success seemed elusive.

Arshad mentioned that while he serves as a brand ambassador in Uzbekistan, he made it clear that he would only compete for Pakistan.

Over the years, Arshad has earned numerous medals in prestigious competitions, including the Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, World Championships, Islamic Solidarity Games, and the Asian Junior Championship.

His most recent achievement is particularly noteworthy—he won the gold medal at the Paris Olympics 2024, making history with a record javelin throw of 92.97 meters.

This victory was significant for Pakistan, as it marked the country’s first Olympic gold medal in 40 years.

It also marked the first individual Olympic gold medal won for the country.
