Her husband, Chicago Cubs shortstop Dansby Swanson, couldn't hold back his emotions as he celebrated her triumph on social media.

His heartfelt message resonated with fans, who witnessed the deeply personal side of this public celebration.

Mallory Swanson’s performance was noteworthy as she scored the decisive goal against Brazil in the 57th minute of the match. This goal was particularly special as it coincided with her 100th appearance for the national team.

Dansby’s tribute continued, "You are truly a gift from above, and you shine with that every day. I'm speechless. And now you're a gold medal, Olympic champion, and 100 caps in the same day. And that can never be taken from you. I love you forever."

Despite the joy surrounding the USWNT's victory, some controversy arose over the legitimacy of Mallory's goal, with critics arguing that she may have been offside. However, this did not overshadow the team's accomplishment or the significance of Mallory's contribution to their success.
