Six Afghan 'forgers' arrested

The Peshawar branch of the Federal Investigation Agency's (FIA) claimed to have arrested six Afghan nationals over their alleged involvement in forging Pakistani identity cards.

To curb illegal activities, the government in November launched the first round of repatriation of what it called "undocumented aliens" in 2023. The government has now decided to begin the second phase, targeting those with Afghan Citizenship Cards (ACC) and leaving out those with Pakistan Origin Cards.

The FIA spokesperson confirmed said that six Afghan nationals, involved in forging Pakistani identity cards, have been arrested.
