Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has removed the Mianwali district police officer (DPO) from his post on receiving public complaints against him.
The CM issued the order during a visit to Mianwali where she presided over a meeting at the DC office to review development projects.
She expressed her indignation over hike in the crime rate and public complaints with regard to corruption.
She ordered action against corrupt elements for the elimination of corruption.
The chief minister announced that the first cath lab for cardiac patients in Mianwali would be established.
It was decided in principle to launch solarisation of agricultural tube wells in the Chadoor area of Mianwali.
CM Maryam Nawaz directed the authorities to take measures for the prevention of damage from floodwater and torrents in the area.
She called for steps for the improvement of the cleanliness system along with developing a green belt in the city, issuing directives for the provision of the required machinery for the purpose.
She directed the officials concerned to improve the condition of the schools and ensure their educational standard.
She also inquired about the bread and flour prices across the district, as well as the performance of the 'Clinics on wheels' and field hospitals. She issued instructions to functionalise the streetlights and remove encroachments from local streets and bazaars. The CM was briefed about the registration of families under the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz enquired about the death of an abandoned patient allegedly due to negligence of hospital staff two months ago.
