Fawad Khan partners with US production house for new song
Pakistani singer and actor Fawad Khan has partnered with Seattle-based production house MTG to release an electronic pop track, Arab News reported. The highly anticipated music video, set to feature top influencers from the local music industry, will be available later this week, as announced by MTG on Monday.
Before his rise to stardom as an actor, Fawad was the lead vocalist for the Lahore-based rock band Entity Paradigm, showcasing his musical prowess early on. MTG, a Seattle-based media outlet and production house, premiered the new song on July 27.
Although the name of the track remains undisclosed, it features notable artists Maria Unera and Bilal Ali. Maria Unera, a Pakistani Philippina singer and songwriter, was recently spotlighted on Spotify's "Best of Pakistani Women" playlist under EQUAL Pakistan. Bilal Ali, the lead singer of the Pakistani band Kashmir, also brings his dynamic presence to the collaboration.
The music video for the track is slated for release on Saturday, August 10. Directed by MTG's founder, Maheen Mustafa, the video will be accessible on all streaming platforms. In an MTG press release shared on Monday, Fawad expressed his admiration for the artists involved. "The incredible icons featured in the new MTG music video are formidable talents," Fawad said. "Their achievements inspire and uplift people around the world, including myself."
Maria shared her excitement about the project, emphasising the unique nature of the initiative and her enthusiasm for the collaborative effort. "The initiative really stood out for me and made me more keen to work with everyone involved in this project," she stated. "Can't wait for everyone to check out what we worked on."
Bilal echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the positive experience of working alongside such talented artists. He described the collaboration as "brilliant" and expressed his hope that their effort would be appreciated by listeners. "We hope we did them justice and that people appreciate our humble attempt," Bilal remarked.
Earlier, Fawad made headlines following his heartwarming revelation about his enduring friendships in Bollywood. The Pakistani heartthrob shared that he maintains a warm camaraderie with several of his Indian collaborators, including his Ae Dil Hai Mushkil co-star Ranbir Kapoor and ace filmmakers Karan Johar and Shakun Batra. Despite the geopolitical tensions that have kept him away from Bollywood since his 2016 hit, Fawad's friendships across the border have stood the test of time.
"We end up talking on chat or on call so I've stayed in touch and enjoyed a very good relationship with the Kapoor family," Fawad told Pinkvilla, reminiscing about the good times. "There's still a lot of love and respect even with Karan and Shakun."
