8 booked over terror, murder charges

Eight suspects have been booked on charges of murder, attempted murder, and terrorism over a fatal shooting triggered by a parking plot dispute in Macchar Colony.

As per police reports, the two brothers - Laeeq Zaman and Adil Zaman - were killed, and a passerby, identified as Nauman, was injured during the altercation near Nullah Stop in the jurisdiction of Docks police station.

Police registered the case on the complaint of Muhammad Rehan, the son of the deceased Laeeq Zaman. He named Mujeebullah, Shafiq Rahman, Javed, Haji Rahman, alias Gulli, Sajid, Shabal, and two unidentified men as the accused.

The complainant stated in the FIR that his father, Laeeq Zaman, had an ongoing dispute with Haji Rahman, alias Gulli, over a railway parking plot. His uncle, Adil Zaman, had also been involved in a court case against Gulli. On the day of the incident, both Laeeq and Adil were returning from a court appearance. As they disembarked from a bus at Nullah Stop and walked a short distance, they were ambushed by eight assailants who opened fire on them in broad daylight.

Laeeq suffered 13 gunshot wounds in different parts of his body, while Adil was struck by nine bullets, resulting in their death on the spot.
