Pindi seals illegal gas refilling shops

RAWALPINDI:

Teams of the Civil Defence Department conducted a major operation at the Pirwadhai General Bus Stand and the roundabout on the strict orders of OGRA and the Rawalpindi Commissioner.

During the operation, 11 gas refilling shops which were illegally installing large commercial gas cylinders in public transport vehicles were sealed. All the equipment, motors and cylinders present in these shops were confiscated. Additionally, 14 public transport vehicles that had large gas cylinders installed or were getting them refilled at the shops were also impounded and issued fines. Cases have been registered against these shops.

District Officer Civil Defence, Talib Hussain, stated that OGRA and Rawalpindi Commissioner, Amir Rafiq, have taken serious notice of the installation of gas cylinders in public transport.
