Sabrina Carpenter continues to defend her April 2024 Skims campaign, even months after working with Kim Kardashian’s brand.

In an interview with Variety, the 25-year-old singer explained that she didn’t need Taylor Swift’s approval for the job, despite Swift’s ongoing feud with Kardashian.

Carpenter praised Swift as a “rock star” during the interview and downplayed the significance of the fashion collaboration, suggesting it wasn’t as major as fans made it out to be.

“She’s just such a gangster with all of it. No matter what people are saying, everything that I’ve ever seen her tackle, she’s done so with grace,” Carpenter told the publication.

“The posts about me having to ‘ask for her permission’ — no,” she continued. “She’s one of my best, best friends, and we grab dinner or text and catch up like you would with your best friend.”

Carpenter, who had previously supported Swift on the Eras Tour, posed for Skims earlier this year, showcasing lingerie and essentials from the brand’s Stretch Lace and Fits Everybody lines.

“I feel very excited Skims chose me to be the face of this campaign as I’ve always been a fan of the brand,” she said at the time.

The choice puzzled Swifties, as Swift and Kardashian have been feuding since 2016, when Kardashian leaked a edited call between Swift and Kanye West, calling Swift a "snake."

Though it’s speculated that Swift’s song "thanK you aIMee" from her "Tortured Poets Department" album targets Kardashian, Carpenter maintains that her Skims job didn’t spark any “Bad Blood” between her and Swift.

Swift has not publicly addressed the issue, but other close friends like Brittany Mahomes and Lana Del Rey have recently modelled Skims styles.
