Chappell Roan reacts to fans linking Kamala Harris & Tim Walz merch to 'Midwest Princess' merch

Recently, Harris also used Roan’s song ‘Femininomenon’ in a promo video for her campaign.

Pop icon Chappell Roan recently addressed a comparison between Vice President Kamala Harris and her VP candidate Tim Walz's campaign merchandise and her own "Midwest Princess" hat. 

The singer reposted a fan's post, which highlighted the resemblance, captioning it with "is this real?"

The comparison quickly garnered attention online, with fans speculating on Roan's potential reaction. Some interpreted the similarity as public endorsement, while others wondered if she was irritated. 

One fan commented, "Oh she might be pissed about this," while another noted, "not the US government coming for your brand !!?!!??? your impact omg."

Adding to the intrigue, the Harris campaign has used Roan's music in their promotional materials. 

A recent campaign TikTok video featured Roan's 2022 single “Femininomenon,” juxtaposing images of former President Donald Trump with Vice President Harris. 

The clip concluded with Roan’s voice stating, “But what we really need is a femininomenon,” highlighting Harris as a preferred alternative.

This video followed President Joe Biden's announcement on July 21 that he would not seek re-election, endorsing Harris for the presidency. 

The Democratic National Committee will hold its national convention starting on August 19 in Chicago, where Harris is expected to receive the official nomination.

Roan is not the first pop star to be linked with Harris's campaign. Previously, Charli XCX showed her support by tweeting, “Kamala IS brat,” which the campaign shared alongside a banner styled after Charli XCX’s Brat album art. 

The campaign has also seen a surge in memes featuring Harris, including a viral clip from May 2023 where she humorously quoted her mother, which artists like Kesha have remixed into pop songs.
