Less than 48 hours after his Atlanta rally, White House GOP nominee and former President Donald Trump said rapper Young Thug is being “treated very unfairly” in his organized crime trial in Fulton County.

Trump brought up the rapper, whose real name is Jeffery Williams, during a live podcast stream with internet personality and online streamer Adin Ross on the Kick platform.

The livestream started with 250,000 viewers and eventually peaked at 555,000, according to TheWrap.

Similar to Young Thug, Trump is facing charges resembling organized crime in Fulton County, filed by District Attorney Fani Willis.

At approximately one hour and six minutes into the live stream, Ross referred to Young Thug as his friend and discussed Willis' indictments against the global entertainment star.

Williams was taken into custody on May 9, 2022, along with 27 other alleged gang members in Buckhead, as part of a 56-count indictment.

The jury selection for the trial took longer than any previous case in Georgia's history, and the witness testimony is expected to set new state records as well.

Defense lawyers have consistently expressed worries that the trial might extend for years due to the large number of witnesses the prosecution intends to call.

Prosecutors are working to prove that YSL is a criminal street gang involved in various illegal activities. Defense attorneys argue that YSL is not a gang but merely the name of a record label.

Young Thug is facing eight criminal charges under a federal law that was originally established to combat organized crime.

Williams faces charges including possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of codeine with the intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, possession of a firearm, and possession of a machine gun.
