Pakistan's leading TikToker, Jannat Mirza, has revealed why her debut film, Tere Bajre Di Rakhi, failed to succeed at the box office.
Recently, she appeared on a podcast, where she opened up about her experience working with director Syed Noor on the film, stating, "Syed Noor is my uncle, and I have a lot of respect for him. The film Tere Bajre Di Rakhi was good, but I think the script was weak."
Jannat explained that the film featured outdated elements like large weapons and horse chases, which don't resonate with today's young audience, adding, "Such stories were more popular in the past."
She further stated that a film can only succeed with a strong script and a story written according to current trends, admitting, "When I was offered the film, I was naïve. I used to make TikTok videos at home and didn't even read the script before accepting the offer, so I didn’t know anything about the film’s story."
She continued by reflecting on her transition from a small screen to a big screen as an honour but emphasized that audiences watch films primarily for a good story, noting, "Even Bollywood king Shah Rukh Khan's films flop due to weak storylines."
