Rihanna rumored to release new album and announce 2024 tour

Rumors are swirling about Rihanna's potential 2024 tour after reports surfaced that the renowned singer has signed a deal with Live Nation for a new album and tour.

The nine-time Grammy Award winner's most recent tour was in 2016, where she promoted her album Anti.

In October 2023, media outlets such as Entertainment Tonight and The Mirror reported that sources close to Rihanna had confirmed a deal with Live Nation.

The deal was reportedly valued at £32 million for a comeback tour in 2024/2025 and a new album.

According to The Mirror, an insider stated: “Rihanna quietly planning a comeback tour after signing with Live Nation. The deal was created to facilitate a world tour and her creative team is quietly at work in Los Angeles putting it all together as she raises her family. She’ll press play on the live show once she’s ready to go back to work and has two albums’ worth of material to release once she’s back.”

Billboard later refuted the reports of the deal within the same month.

Billboard reported that a top source revealed “no tour had been confirmed for Rihanna.”

The magazine’s source also noted that the Diamond hitmaker had not yet agreed to any touring projects for 2024.

In December 2023, the Fenty mogul responded to the touring rumors during an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

The singer noted that returning to tour had always been part of the plan.

In the interview, Rihanna explained: “I want to do a tour when there’s new music, right? My last tour was a long time ago. I feel like it’s only fair that my fans get what they’ve been waiting on, which is new music. And after that, let’s just, like, blow everything up!”

The Barbadian singer has hinted at the release of a ninth album on several occasions.

At the Fenty Hair launch party in Los Angeles in June 2024, she described her process of making new music as a way of “rediscovering things.”

She continued: “I have been working on the album for so long that I kinda put all that stuff aside and now I’m prepared to go back in the studio. I’m gonna start — give me a second!"

"Yeah, I’m starting over, but I don’t want to neglect the songs that I have, so I actually want to go back and listen to stuff with new ears, with my new perspective and then see what applies and what I’m still in love with.”
