Tate McRae suffers major fall during Lollapalooza 2024 performance
Pop singer Tate McRae put everything into her performance at this year’s Lollapalooza festival, and it nearly took a toll on her.
The Canadian-born singer showcased her attitude at the Chicago festival, wearing a red bra top trimmed with white fabric, coordinating sparkling mini-shorts, and high-heeled gray slouchy boots.
Tate appeared completely focused as she performed, but the unexpected occurred as she confidently descended the stage steps.
The So You Think You Can Dance finalist stumbled, seemingly twisting her leg behind her as she fell, prompting the audience to gasp audibly, with some spectators fearing she had "snapped her leg in half."
However, she swiftly bounced back, seemingly shrugging off the mishap, and continued with her performance.
With her mom being a dance teacher, it’s no surprise that Tate took up the art. She began dance training at six and attended The American International School Muscat in Oman, where she lived with her parents.
In 2011, Tate launched her YouTube channel, mainly posting dance videos. At just 13, she became the first Canadian finalist on the American reality show So You Think You Can Dance in 2016.
Tate started sharing her songs on YouTube in 2017, and the first song, One Day, which she wrote when she was 14, went viral and was released as a single that was certified gold in Canada.
After continuously posting new singles as part of her Create With Tate series, she attracted the attention of record labels, signing with RCA Records in 2019 when her debut EP All the Things I Never Said was released.
