14% of Pakistanis unaware of prime minister's name, survey reveals

Gallup Pakistan survey indicates that urban residents were more informed than their rural counterparts

Gallup Pakistan has released the results of a recent survey assessing public awareness of the current prime minister's name, conducted from June 28 to July 10.

The survey involved over 700 participants from across the country.

The results for the question "What is the name of the current Prime Minister?" revealed that 65% of Pakistanis correctly identified Shehbaz Sharif as the prime minister, demonstrating a significant level of awareness.

However, 20% of respondents provided incorrect answers, while 14% admitted they were unaware of the prime minister’s name. The data also showed gender differences, with 71% of men correctly naming the prime minister compared to 61% of women.

Furthermore, the survey indicated that urban residents were more informed than their rural counterparts.

In cities, 72% of respondents correctly identified Shehbaz Sharif, whereas in rural areas, the figure stood at 63%.
