'Social media accounts involved in digital terrorism'

Ban on X to be removed if rules and regulations are put on place

LAHORE:

Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari said on Friday the ban on X (formerly Twitter) will be removed if rules and regulations are put in place.

Justifying X ban, the provincial minister said many countries have laws governing social media, adding digital terrorism is carried out through social media accounts. All accounts must be governed by the rules and regulations, she added.

To a question, Azma Bokhari said, "We are deeply concerned about the financial distress and mental discomfort of the people," adding the IMF has set stringent conditions for Pakistan.
