Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh sparked controversy once again, displaying inappropriate behaviour towards a journalist on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
A local journalist criticised Harbhajan on X, sharing a picture of Shahid Afridi hitting four sixes off his bowling. This post seemingly enraged the former cricketer.
In response, Harbhajan posted an image from the Herald Sun newspaper featuring the 2009 attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team, captioned as "The Darkest Day in Cricket."
He reacted harshly to journalist Fareed Khan's tweet, using derogatory language, "In sports, wins and losses happen, but let me tell you what your problem is! Get the (F) out of here, I’m sure you understand what I mean by (F) or should I explain?"
Harbhajan Singh's choice of words, using a pun with the English letter 'F', led to significant trolling from fans, though some Indian media outlets defended the spinner.
One user remarked, "Such venom isn't good! The BJP will soon grant you a position."
This incident comes amid discussions around the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, hosted by Pakistan.
Harbhajan Singh has expressed reservations about sending the Indian team to Pakistan due to security concerns, despite interest from other participating teams in playing there, which has left the Indian spinner displeased.
