Megyn Kelly has publicly criticised the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for allowing a “man” to compete in the women’s boxing category at the Olympics, calling it an "injustice."

Italian boxer Angela Carini broke down in tears after abandoning her bout against Algerian opponent Imane Khelif just 46 seconds into the fight, igniting controversy at the Paris Olympics.

The 25-year-old welterweight’s headgear became dislodged twice within the brief encounter with Khelif, who was controversially allowed to compete despite being disqualified from the women’s world championships last year for failing testosterone and gender eligibility tests.

Support for Carini surged online, with #IStandWithAngelaCarini trending and many criticising the perceived unfairness of the fight.

Kelly stated, “We have just witnessed a biological woman, also known as just a woman, in a fight with a boxer who was not allowed to compete against women last year because it's a man.”

Kelly further expressed frustration over the IOC's decision, emphasising, “You have XY chromosomes, you're a man for athletic purposes and other purposes.” She added, "I don't give a sh*t you have XY chromosomes you're a man." She pointed out that Khelif had failed a gender eligibility test previously, yet was allowed to compete in the Olympics. “This is what female athletes are up against when the powers that be will not protect them,” Kelly added.

Angela Carini, who was brought to tears during the fight, reportedly said, “I got into the ring to fight, but I didn't feel like it anymore. After the first minute, I started to feel a strong pain in my nose. I've never taken a punch like that. It’s impossible to continue.” Her coach also voiced concerns, stating, “I think it's a male. Many people in Italy tried to call and tell her don't go; it's dangerous for you.”

Charlie Kirk, founder and CEO of Turning Point USA, joined Kelly on her show, labelling the situation as “outrageous” and adding, “These poor women are being fed like lambs to the slaughter in the name of diversity, equity, and inclusion.” He argued that this issue stems from America's influence on global sports, saying, “We have workshopped trans ideology and men in female sports, and it started here.”

The IOC defended its stance, asserting that “they are women in their passports, and it’s stated that they are female.” However, this explanation did little to quell the backlash. Kelly and others have urged sports organisations to reconsider their policies, arguing for the protection of female athletes. As Kelly concluded, “It remains to be seen how NBC News will cover this here at home since they are as woke and pro-trans 'rights' as humanly possible.”
