Cardi B and Offset: a year-by-year relationship timeline

Cardi B announced her third pregnancy just a day after filing for divorce from Offset for the second time.

2017: The Beginning and Secret Marriage

Cardi B and Offset's relationship began in early 2017. They first sparked dating rumors after being spotted together at the Super Bowl in February. 

On Sept. 20, 2017, the couple secretly married, a fact they kept under wraps until much later. Offset publicly proposed to Cardi B onstage at Power 99’s Powerhouse concert in Philadelphia in October.

2018: Public Relationship and First Child

Throughout 2018, Cardi and Offset’s relationship faced numerous cheating scandals. Despite this, they welcomed their first child, Kulture Kiari Cephus, on July 10. In December, Cardi announced their split on Instagram but the pair reconciled shortly after.

2019: Reconciliation and Public Appearances

In early 2019, Cardi and Offset were seen together again, stepping onto the Grammys red carpet as a couple. They continued to make public appearances, showcasing their relationship at various events, including the Billboard Music Awards.

2020: Divorce Filing and Reconciliation

On Sept. 15, 2020, Cardi filed for divorce from Offset, citing irreconcilable differences. However, they reconciled just weeks later. By November, Cardi confirmed that the divorce case was dismissed.

2021: Second Child Announcement

Cardi revealed she was expecting her second child during Migos' performance at the BET Awards in June 2021. On Sept. 4, 2021, they welcomed their son, Wave Set Cephus.

2023: Relationship Strains and Breakups

In January 2023, Cardi opened up about the couple’s rocky past and reconciliation on The Jason Lee Show. By December, rumors of another split surfaced when the couple unfollowed each other on social media. Cardi confirmed her single status on Dec. 11, 2023.

2024: Second Divorce Filing and Pregnancy Announcement

On July 31, 2024, Cardi filed for divorce from Offset for the second time. And just a day later, she announced she was pregnant with their third child.
