The world of theatre, TV, and film is mourning the loss of Sardar Kamal, who passed away on Tuesday following a heart attack. Despite being rushed to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology, he could not be saved. The esteemed actor will be laid to rest in his hometown of Faisalabad, leaving behind a legacy as rich as it is enduring.

Born Muhammad Sardar, Kamal’s path wasn’t paved with golden accolades but with the raw grit of a textile worker who found his true calling in the world of comedy and acting. He started his career in theatre and graced the screens with his memorable performances in Punjabi classics like Choorian, Majajan, and Channa Sachi Muchi, as well as Urdu hits such as Diwane Tere Pyar Kay. His theatrical genius was best showcased in his iconic play, Janam Janam Ki Maili Chadar.

The entertainment world is reeling from the loss, with heartfelt tributes pouring in. Yasir Hussain, with his typical eloquence, took to Instagram, writing, “When someone who makes us laugh passes away, we shouldn’t cry. Your work will remain with us. Love you, sir.” It’s a poignant reminder that Kamal’s laughter will continue to echo long after his final bow.

Imran Ashraf, host of Mazaq Raat, echoed the collective grief, saying, “I am heartbroken. My heart goes out to his family. I have no words to describe what I feel having news of his departure from this world. I got such a splendid host after many years.”

As Faisalabad lays this comedic genius to rest, the world of entertainment remembers him not just as an actor, but as the man who turned everyday moments into a celebration of humour and humanity.
