Ben Affleck has acquired a $20.5 million Los Angeles estate on July 24, coinciding with Jennifer Lopez’s sale of her New York City penthouse and her 55th birthday.
PEOPLE confirms that both deals closed on the same day. Affleck’s new residence, a five-bedroom, six-bathroom property designed by architect Cliff May, follows the couple's decision to list their Beverly Hills mansion for $68,000,000 on July 11.
Lopez sold her four-bedroom, 7.5-bathroom duplex for $23 million. The transactions come during a period when the couple are geographically separated. While Lopez celebrated her birthday in New York, Affleck remained in California.
Lopez’s birthday weekend included a Bridgerton-themed party in the Hamptons on July 20, which Affleck did not attend.
Affleck, currently engaged in the production of The Accountant 2 in Los Angeles, and Lopez have spent time apart recently, including on the Fourth of July and their second wedding anniversary.
On the East Coast, Lopez has been active with bike rides, gym sessions, and time spent with Affleck’s daughter, Violet.
Lopez expressed her gratitude to fans in an Instagram post following her birthday. She shared her appreciation, saying, "I really do have the best, most amazing fans in the world. I could never express how moved I am or how incredibly blessed I feel to have all of you be a part of my life. Thank you sooooo very much. 🤍🙏🏼."
Reflecting on her career, she added, "You are my biggest gift. Besides my family and friends, you have always been there for me in the good times and in the tough times."
