Cristiano Ronaldo has ignited speculation about his marital status after calling his longtime girlfriend, Georgina Rodríguez, his "wife" in a new home workout video for the fitness brand Whoop.
In the Instagram clip shared on Monday, Ronaldo said, “Most important thing is, it’s not what you do, it’s you have to do. When I’m not training in the club, I like to work with my wife at home. I can push her and she can push me, too.”
Ronaldo's publicist addressed the buzz in a statement to Page Six on Tuesday, saying, “At this time, I cannot confirm nor deny that Cristiano has married Georgina. I simply do not know.”
Fans quickly flooded the comments section with questions about whether the couple had secretly tied the knot.
“Did he say my wife? Are they now secretly married?,” one user asked, while another inquired, “When did you get married with her calling her ‘my wife’?”
Ronaldo, 39, and Rodríguez, 30, have been together since 2017 after meeting at the Gucci store where she worked.
The couple has two daughters, Alana, 6, and Bella, 2. Ronaldo also has a son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., 13, and twins Eva and Mateo, 7, via surrogacy.
The couple endured a heartbreaking loss in 2022 when Bella’s twin brother died during childbirth.
In March, Rodríguez opened up about the loss on Season 2 of her docuseries "I Am Georgina," saying, “My priority right now is my family and my children. I’m so happy and so thankful. Life goes on. I have reasons to move on and be strong.”
